Brian and I (and Aaron, I believe) are going to start a new game of TripleA, using the latest stable release (1.0.0.3).
The variant is BigWorld1942, which has 6 powers (Rus, Ger, Bri, Chi, Jap, USA) and therefore potentially 6 players. We propose to increase the number of "alliances" in the variant from 2 to 4. Traditionally, the two "alliances" are "Axis" (Ger, Jap) and "Allied" (Rus, Bri, Chi, USA). We want to try with the following four "alliances": "Communist" (Rus, Chi), "German" (Ger), "Western" (Bri, Chi, USA), and "Japanese" (Jap). Units of different alliances may not share territories/sea zones in Non-Combat Movement, automatically fight during Combat, and capture each other's territories. You'll note that China is part of two alliances and that Germany and Japan are alliances unto themselves.
Once we've determined the number of players, we'll start bidding for the number of additional IPCs the Axis starts with. The lowest bidder will play the Axis power of his choice, the second lowest bidder will play the other Axis power. Allocation of the bonus Axis IPCs and disposition of the Allied powers among the remaining players will be resolved informally.
Placement of Axis units from bonus IPCs will be limited to one unit per Economic Value of the destination territory.
Who wants to play?

I'm in. We'll need a system for conducting bidding - who goes first and what governs the order.
ReplyDeleteSo, we're down to two players, me and Brian.
ReplyDeleteIf Brian's still up for a game, I propose he takes Germany and Japan while I take USSR, UK, China, and USA.
In the last game ('pal'), the Axis started with 35 bonus IPCs. For game 'nev' Brian can take 35 bonus IPCs for the Axis, or fewer if he wants to challenge himself.
