A Disquiet Follows My Soul

Man, these ep titles suckSpoilers in comments.

  1. The first post-opening-credit scene with Bill, Tigh, Tyrol, Lee, and Gaeta was my favorite:  all the swirling loyalties.  I really hope Tyrol gets the chance to extract his pound of flesh from the Admiral over the strike-breaking episode.

There probably isn't enough time left in the series for another election plot, but it sure would be nice if the Cylon citizenship question could be resolved to permit the skinjobs to vote and even run.

We're led to believe that the Admiral simply bluffed Zarek with imaginary documentation of nevertheless real acts of corruption, and that's probably right.  The thing is, the Fleet isn't big enough for Zarek to have committed Mugabe-level graft, and I'm sure he's compromised so many skippers and other power brokers that the outrage would be slight.  In fact, in a purely human fleet, I'd like to think that Zarek would welcome if not false than at least easily muddied charges from the Admiral.  It's the skinjobs that Zarek can't compromise and that's why he wants them out.

I don't like the way the Bill-Tigh conflict from last ep has been papered over (or, churlishly, forgotten (I will listen to the podcasts no more forever)).  We all heard that Season 4.5 was when Bill would come, um, unMoored, but like the audacious but abbreviated Occupied New Caprica arc, the writers seem to have lost their nerve pretty quick.  The Admiral's bluff of Zarek was classic post-Cain cool, and Laura asking permission to come down from the Cross only works if Bill is as solid as Peter, so I guess we're back to Sober Bill.

Zeus spare us from any more Baltar substance abuse (parishoner abuse, yes, more please). I hope Six decides not only that Baltar has to baptize the new bundle of joy but also that Tigh has to convert.

  2. I would predict future season 4.5 titles

    1. "All the lies that are my life".
    2. "I have no mouth, and I must scream".
    3. "A heartbreaking work of staggering genius".
    4. "Dictatorship would be a heck of a lot easier".
